Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 September 2026

Current version: monthly and annual Premium subscriptions are offered on iPhone or iPad, and through the browser. Browser purchases use RevenueCat Billing, with Stripe processing payments. No free trial is offered at launch. Contact: [email protected]. Operator: DotRex Studio.

1. Acceptance

By using Musizz (the “App”) you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The operator is DotRex Studio.

2. What the App does

The App is a practice tool: the microphone hears the instrument and the modes (Rush, Scale, Free, arcade and tuner) react to the note or chord. A web demo mode (?demo=1) simulates hits without an instrument.

The App does not replace a teacher, licensed sheet music or a medical hearing diagnosis. We do not guarantee musical progress or perfect detection in noisy rooms.

3. Licence

We grant a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the App under these Terms. You do not acquire ownership of the software, trademarks or App content.

  • Do not copy, resell or redistribute the App except as allowed by law or the repository licence.
  • Do not circumvent technical limits, stores or purchase systems.
  • Do not use the App unlawfully or to harm others.

4. Microphone and permissions

Several modes request the microphone for pitch detection. Audio is processed on-device and is not recorded or uploaded by us (see the Privacy Policy). Without permission those modes will not work. You are responsible for using the microphone at a suitable place and volume and for respecting third-party rights in the surrounding sound.

5. Scores and on-device content

Scores and preferences stay on the device (on the web, localStorage). We may clear or reset scores in updates. There is no online leaderboard today.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

The App offers optional monthly and annual Premium subscriptions on iPhone or iPad, and through the browser. Apple App Store processes purchases on iPhone or iPad, and RevenueCat helps verify Premium access. Browser purchases use RevenueCat Billing, with Stripe processing the payment. You must confirm the initial purchase in the relevant purchase flow. After subscribing, automatic renewals may generate further charges without a new confirmation each period, under the conditions disclosed before purchase.

For App Store purchases on iPhone or iPad, and browser purchases:

  • Price, currency, billing period, renewal terms and included features appear in the relevant purchase flow before payment.
  • On iPhone or iPad, Apple App Store charges the Apple account used for purchase. Manage or cancel the App Store subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions; submit App Store refund requests through Apple.
  • In the browser, manage or cancel at Account > Manage subscription in Musizz or through the link in RevenueCat Billing confirmation and renewal emails. Cancellation stops the next renewal, and Premium access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • No free trial is offered at launch. Premium provides unlimited games with no ads.
  • For questions about browser charges, contact [email protected]. Refunds and other rights remain subject to applicable law and mandatory consumer rights.

7. Account and access

You must sign in with an account to access the App area. The login screen lists the available methods; this release is configured with Apple and Google sign-in, but the authentication service may show different methods according to availability. Email methods may include a one-time code or sign-in link when enabled. You must provide a valid email address and protect access to your account. Scores and progress remain on the device and are not synced to a server today. You can delete your account from the Account screen; the service removes the authentication record, ends active sessions, and removes the account’s credit balance, credit transactions, survey drafts, and answers. Our verified authentication-database backups are kept for up to seven days and reconciled with deletion records before a restored copy is promoted; technical logs follow operational, security, and legal needs. After deletion, we start a tracked process to remove associated telemetry from PostHog and Sentry. Our operational target is to resolve or escalate the case within 30 days; it is not a provider deadline or guarantee. We keep the PostHog request pending until there is verifiable evidence; request acceptance or a missing profile does not prove deletion. Sentry requires manual review. Cases still pending on D30 are escalated and may remain under retry and review through D90. We keep technical identifiers encrypted for up to 90 days for retries and late-event audits, then delete them at D90. If deletion is still unverified, the case remains unresolved and is not reported as complete. The app reports whether the server recorded the request, not whether the providers completed deletion. See the Privacy Policy for the retention periods for the notice address and Sign in with Apple token. If the screen after deletion asks you to revoke Sign in with Apple manually, follow the instructions shown there. Deleting your Musizz account does not cancel an App Store subscription: manage or cancel it in the Apple account used for purchase. For a browser subscription, deleting the RevenueCat customer record cancels the browser subscription once processed; until then, you can cancel through the link in RevenueCat Billing emails. We may suspend access if these Terms are breached or the law requires it.

8. Intellectual property

Musizz, its brand, game modes, visual content, and code belong to the operator or their respective licensors. Third-party marks and content remain the property of their owners, and their use does not imply affiliation or endorsement.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law we do not warrant uninterrupted operation, correct detection in every environment, or fitness for a particular purpose. Pitch detection depends on the microphone, noise and the instrument.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law the operator is not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, data loss or damages arising from use or inability to use the App. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that consumer law (including Brazil’s CDC, where it applies) does not allow to be waived.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time, delete local data or delete your account from the Account screen. Deleting your Musizz account does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage or cancel it in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Browser subscriptions are canceled when deletion of the RevenueCat customer record is processed. Until then, you can cancel through the link in RevenueCat Billing emails. Deletion ends access to the account even if a paid period remains. We may suspend access if these Terms are breached or if the law requires it. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Venue is the courts of the operator’s domicile (DotRex Studio), without prejudice to any mandatory consumer venue.

13. Changes

We may change these Terms. The date at the top will change. Continued use after an updated version is published, where the law allows, constitutes acceptance. Changes about payments or ads will be published before the change is activated.

14. Contact and documents
